Individualized Obesity Prevention and Health Education Program that helps young children and families change diet and exercise habits.

1 hour for 10 weeks $125.00 per child.

Price Chopper Supermarket Tours  (Grades 3 -5) 

Kids and teachers discover clues to maintaining a healthy weight and better nutrition during this interactive shopping tour that’s FREE to area schools and held at local Price Chopper Supermarkets. The tour focuses on helping kids to connect food and beverage choices designed to help them feeling energized and  stay strong as they grow.  Although childhood overweight and obesity is discussed it is not the focus of the tour.  The tour is about helping kids choose foods that supply more nutrients with less sugar and fat.

The Light Life (Families)

This is a fun and interactive program for family members and is best suited for kids ages 9-13. Using the published workbook co-written by two registered dietitians and entitled The Light Life, this weekly program will offer a family guide for weight control. Offered interactively in a group format, parents and children participants will understand how many calories their bodies need and what defines a healthy - but not depriving way of eating. It will provide opportunity for self assessment surrounding food and physical activity.  The program we will cover label reading, review of the foods groupings and the nutrients they supply; serving size and portion control, junk food and snacking; packing healthier lunches, emotional and boredom eating, the importance of play and exercise and creating healhier recipes and weekly meal planning.
